Annual Meeting Marks the Second Year of the isUP-AgrO Project

On 3 July 2026, the annual review meeting of the European project isUP-AgrO – Unlocking the Potential for Agricultural Research in an EU Outermost Region: Boosting the ISOPlexis Centre took place, marking the successful completion of the project's second year under the Horizon Europe Twinning programme.

The meeting brought together all consortium partners — ISOPlexis/University of Madeira, IRNAS-CSIC (Spain), the University of Parma (Italy), and Saturntech (Portugal) — as well as the members of the Advisory Board, whose valuable guidance has played a key role in the scientific and strategic development of the project.

The meeting proved to be highly productive, providing an opportunity to review the progress achieved over the first two years and to define priorities for the final phase of the project. The agenda included an overview of the project, updates on the activities carried out within Work Packages 1 to 5, highlighting the main achievements to date, as well as an in-depth discussion of Work Package 6, focusing on the status of the research project, the key findings obtained so far, and future perspectives. The meeting concluded with the definition of the next steps, priorities, and key takeaways for the project's final year.

Over the past two years, isUP-AgrO has significantly strengthened the scientific and innovation capacity of the ISOPlexis Centre, fostering international collaboration, advanced training, knowledge transfer, and the development of high-quality research in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology.

As the project enters its third and final year, activities will focus primarily on fieldwork, data analysis, and the reinforcement of dissemination and communication activities, further enhancing the project's scientific and societal impact.

Their continued support has been instrumental to the success of isUP-AgrO. Together, we continue to strengthen research and innovation in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, further establishing ISOPlexis as a European reference centre in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology.
