{"id":10723,"date":"2025-12-17T10:14:59","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T10:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isupagro.web.uma.pt\/?p=10723"},"modified":"2025-12-17T10:14:59","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T10:14:59","slug":"formacao-em-redacao-cientifica-e-publicacao-academica-no-ambito-do-projeto-europeu-isup-agro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isupagro.web.uma.pt\/en\/formacao-em-redacao-cientifica-e-publicacao-academica-no-ambito-do-projeto-europeu-isup-agro\/","title":{"rendered":"Training on Scientific Writing and Academic Publishing within the European Project isUP-AgrO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Madeira (UMa) hosted, on 10 and 11 December, the training course Scientific Writing and Academic Publishing, held within the framework of the European project isUP-AgrO \u2013 Unlocking the Potential for Agricultural Research on an EU Outermost Region: boosting ISOPlexis Centre. <em>Scientific Writing and Academic Publishing<\/em>, integrada no projeto europeu <em>isUP-AgrO \u2013 Unlocking the Potential for Agricultural Research on an EU Outmost Region: boosting ISOPlexis Centre.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative was aimed at researchers, technicians, and students interested in deepening their skills in scientific writing and academic publishing and included the participation of various members of the academic and scientific community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The course was delivered by Professor Jos\u00e9 Enrique Fern\u00e1ndez Luque, researcher at IRNAS-CSIC (Spain) and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Agricultural Water Management. An expert in plant ecophysiology and irrigation management, he leads the ECOVER research group and is the author of more than 81 scientific articles and 22 book chapters, with over 5,400 citations (h-index 42), bringing extensive international experience in scientific publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first day of the training focused on scientific writing, covering topics from article conception to the effective organization of tables and figures. On the second day, participants deepened their knowledge of academic publishing, including authorship ethics, interaction with editors and reviewers, and the analysis of examples of high-impact scientific publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The isUP-AgrO project brings together internationally renowned research centres, such as IRNAS-CSIC (Spain) and the University of Parma (Italy), as well as innovation-driven companies, including Saturntech, and regional partners, strengthening scientific and technological cooperation at the European level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve its objectives, the project promotes a comprehensive strategy for knowledge sharing and capacity building, including joint research activities, expert exchanges, training actions, summer schools, workshops, international symposia and science communication initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of scientific excellence in the Madeira region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex
