Visit of Representatives from the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute (Bulgaria) to the ISOPlexis Centre
Last week, the ISOPlexis Centre – Centre for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology at the University of Madeira welcomed Associate Professor Hristo Stoyanov and Assistant Maria Petrova from the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute (Bulgaria).
The visit aimed to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of sustainable agricultural research. During the meeting, the visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the ISOPlexis facilities, including its laboratories, equipment, and seed collection, as well as the main ongoing research projects.
This initiative provided a valuable exchange of experiences on applied research methodologies and insights into the regional agricultural context of Madeira. The visit further reinforces the ISOPlexis Centre’s commitment to internationalization and highlights the importance of building strong scientific networks across Europe.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to present the isUP-AgrO project, which aims to transform ISOPlexis into a centre of excellence in agricultural research through partnerships with institutions in Italy (Università degli Studi di Parma – UNIPR) and Spain (Instituto de Recursos Naturales y Agrobiología de Sevilla – IRNAS-CSIC), as well as with the innovation-driven company Saturntech.
