GOALS
Specific Objectives
Establish ISOPlexis as a reference in agrobiodiversity and bio-resources.
Transform the ISOPlexis Center into an institution of excellence in the fields of agrobiodiversity and bio-resources. The focus will be on gaining a deeper understanding of how agroecosystems function and the role of agrobiodiversity in promoting sustainable food production systems, as well as improving natural resource management, in collaboration with stakeholders.
Implement a knowledge and expertise exchange network.
Promote workshops and webinars to accelerate knowledge transfer.
Organize workshops, webinars, and other events to accelerate knowledge transfer and the preparation of joint scientific publications and research proposals. These initiatives aim to improve research management and establish a consortium capable of competing at the international level.
Participate in international events and prepare research collaborations.
Increase ISOPlexis' international visibility through participation in global events and initiatives. Additionally, promote the preparation of collaborative research proposals with consortium partners to strengthen the center's capabilities in R&I (Research and Innovation) projects.
Implement a collaborative research project focused on vineyards.
Develop a pilot research project focused on vineyards as a model for studying functional agrobiodiversity in agroecosystems. Vineyards, a key element of agricultural production in Madeira and closely associated with the international Madeira Wine brand, will be used to investigate resilience to climate and global changes.
Update knowledge and skills with new technologies.
Continuously update the knowledge and skills of ISOPlexis researchers and technicians by utilizing advanced technologies and tools. These will enable the implementation of innovative solutions to the challenges of modern agriculture.
