Conference Series on Soil Microbial Interactions Brings International Experts to UMa
On October 20, 2025, the University of Madeira (UMa) hosted the conference series “Soil Microbial Interactions – Challenges and Advanced Techniques”, part of the third training action of the European project isUP-AgrO – Unlocking the Potential for Agricultural Research on an EU Outermost Region: boosting ISOPlexis Centre.
The initiative featured leading researchers from the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Seville (IRNAS-CSIC), Spain, and the University of Parma, Italy, strategic partners of the project. The conferences covered the latest European research lines in Plant Biotechnology, Sustainable Crop Protection, and Plant Ion and Water Regulation, reflecting isUP-AgrO’s commitment to applied research and innovation in sustainable agriculture.
Coordinated by the University of Madeira, the isUP-AgrO project aims to consolidate ISOPlexis as a European reference in applied research for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology.
To achieve its objectives, isUP-AgrO implements a comprehensive strategy for knowledge sharing and capacity building, including joint research, expert exchanges, training actions, workshops, an international symposium, and participation in conferences and science outreach activities.
This conference series reinforces the project’s commitment to strengthening scientific skills, promoting innovation, and increasing the international visibility of the ISOPlexis Center, contributing to the advancement of sustainable agriculture in the European Union’s outermost regions.
