isUP-AgrO participates in the 23rd GIESCO conference in Geisenheim, Germany – “Above and Below – Towards the Future”
From July 27 to 31, 2025, the 23rd GiESCO conference took place in Geisenheim, Germany. The scientific conference addressed the main current and future challenges in viticulture, highlighting the physiological response to abiotic and biotic stress. The need for sustainable and organic viticulture, as well as soil and water management, were extremely important topics for tackling climate change and promoting biodiversity.
Dr. Nuno Miguel Velosa Nunes, representing the ISOPlexis Center and CITAB, presented two panel communications entitled “isUP-AgrO European Project - Unlocking the Potential for Agricultural Research on an EU Outmost Region: boosting ISOPlexis center” and “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Innovation: Preserving Agrodiversity and Advancing Vineyard Resilience in Madeira”.
This work is supported by the isUP-AgrO Project, coordinated by the University of Madeira, and aims to make the ISOPlexis Center a European reference in research for Sustainable Agriculture & Food Technology.
